4 years ago I made an appointment to see Dr. Ciarolla. I saw him as a second opinion, when I felt that surgery couldn't be the only option for my Acute gallbladder condition. He assured me that if I was not experiencing pain that interfered with my daily living, then I'd be fine to not have the "optional" surgery. Four years later, I became jaundice because gallstones got into my biliary duct and prevented bile from flowing to my small intestines. The bile made me very ill. I was admitted to the hospital, where they performed an ERCP to try and remove or unblock the common bile duct. Unfortunately, Mon General was not successful at this procedure and I was re admitted for pancreatitis (very painful). They doctor asked me who told me years ago that I should not worry about having it out. I told him it was Dr. Ciarolla. The doctor just shock his head and said no! If you have an Acute gallbladder disease, it needs to come out immediately! I was then transferred to Ruby where the surgeon performed another ERCP and was successful at removing 3 stones and placing a stint in my common bile duct. I was released after a couple days to go home and even met with a surgeon to schedule my gallbladder removal. Unfortunately, my gallbladder became infected and enlarged. I was again admitted to Ruby where a very kind surgeon was successful at removing this angry gallbladder. Had my second opinion from this doctor been accurate, it would have saved me from all this pain. Please reconsider making an appointment with this doctor. I have forgiven the incompetence of Dr. Ciarolla, but I do not want anyone else to suffer from his lack of knowledge.
