Great park. Not many hiking trails aside from the rail trails but there are many acres where you can bushwhack.

We love Pricketts Fort. We have have been members for about three years now. It is well worth it. We learn something new every time we go there. It is fun to see a working blacksmith and talk to the people who are doing the reenacting. I highly recommend going at least once if you are in the area and you have never gone.
They have an outdoor theatre. I'm not sure if it's still used. I believe it is? They now have a newish gift shop as well.
The trees used to all be marked with what kind they were, but they took all those plaques down. That, and the relative small size of the park give it 4 stars instead of 5. Although a case could be made that it's just a great spot to visit for walking on the rail trail, or biking on it.
Beautiful place and the forts awesome. Places to fish and docks to take a boat out. There's also a "wild life observation deck" where u can soak in the scenery and feed the flocks of ducks and geese. Oh and the have a stage with sitting where i guess they have music . Definitely a good place to take the kid or girlfriend or both.
Lovely small park with Prickett's Fort (rebuilt). A nice rail trail to walk on, a nice path in the woods that goes to a very old cemetary, ducks, a place to BBQ.
Very educational and informative. Came in on a Saturday with high schoolers and middle schoolers who were all very excited for the lesson.
