My fiance's 17 year old dog was very ill and we could not find a local vet to take her on Sunday to be put to sleep and did not want her to suffer any longer. The North Central WV Veterinary Emergency Clinic staff was available, compassionate to our needs and gentle and caring towards his dog. They let us be with her and hold her as she passed and prepared her a little cardboard casket with her name on it so that we could bring her home to bury. We are very thankful they were there in our time of need.
I wanted to say thank you for care of both of us when I lost my long time friend Tyler Drennen black lab 12 1/2 years old the doctor and staff was amazing knew how much I loved Tyler and didn't have much money and still helped us . Thank you Gladys Drennen
My name is Heather Forsythe and recently my boyfriend Patrick Haney and I took our cat Darkness to these people following a cat fight that left a small laceration on our cat's tail. We took this cat in off the streets not that long ago. He was quite timid at first but had started to come around before our encounter with this clinic. Whatever they did to him was wrong. They didn't allow us into the back with the cat as requested, so I can't say for sure what exactly happened, but since then our cat has done a complete 180 and won't allow even the slightest bit of human interaction or affection. He has lost almost all the weight that we were able to put on him and acts completely terrified whenever we try to get close to him. He cowers in the corner whenever he even hears us coming into the room, and he hides every chance he gets. I am sickened by what happened and I would not recommend this place to anyone. They were more concerned about how we were going to pay the bill than what was wrong with the animal from the moment we called. I should have taken this as a sign to the level of care and made the drive to Pittsburgh from the beginning. I am so sorry for my poor Darkness and I can only hope that someday he will forgive us for what these people put him through. NEVER TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE!
My dog got sick the weekend of July 4th and my vet wasn't taking calls and directed me to this clinic. They seemed more concerned about making money than helping my poor puppy. They wanted $750 for the visit, labs, X-rays, and meds but said they could work with the price. I opted to skip labs and do the X-ray since my dog had been vomiting and was walking around with his back hunched (they said everything was good on assessment). They said that we needed to decide how much to spend and they would decide what needed done and they wanted to do labs instead of X-rays. My husband got upset and told them to just give him medicine to help him feel better and took him home. He got worse and we called Audubon whom came right to the clinic did an X-ray immediately and he had GDV (bloat). They were able to decompress with a tube and did everything they could but my dog still ended up passing away. If this clinic had any idea what they were doing and just did the X-ray like I asked then maybe my dog would've been okay. I will never go here again. It was an awful experience.
