It is one of those unique, small, hidden secrets in WV that is a MUST to visit!
The food is very good that have the biggest s*** there but it's like $13 but it's fine the ice cream there is even better they are so fast when they make your ice cream.
A nostalgic restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is topped off with the largest, most delicious ice cream dishes I've ever seen, as well as a selection of pies.
Menu was excellent and very diverse. Food was good and the staff was friendly and attentive. Dining area was very clean and fun with cool decor. Extremely small and crowded. Very little elbow room. Although we were seated quickly, I can see where you might have to wait to be seated, possibly for a long time. It looked like new construction of an addition to the building was underway so maybe there will more seating and dining area soon. Would definitely come back if traveling thru the area.
Our food was delicious! We ordered an ice cream dessert to complete our meal. It was huge, very eye appealing and best ice cream ever!
The waiters/waitresses make you feel very welcome, serving tables as if you were family.
My one problem is that I wish some of the decor was a little more old-fashioned, the way it used to be. It seems that, in recent years, they've started incorporating a little more new things into the atmosphere (including music). That's hardly anything to complain about however.
On the other hand, Copperhouse Grill seated us immediately.
Saturday, October 21st, I went to Poky Dot for lunch. My wife and I walked in and were told there was one table in front of us before we could be seated. Then, a party comes in after us and was seated immediately. Restaurants are first come first serve. That’s how it SHOULD work. If you’re going to pick and choose which party you’re going to seat based on where you’d like them to sit, at least have seating for the rejects to wait.
I've always liked the Poky Dot, and they have some incredibly unique choices on the menu. The milkshakes are amazing (nearly every dessert is presented like a work of art), and the staff is always kind and helpful.
