Great little bar/restaurant. The food is amazing, but the menu is a little limited. Huge selection of local brews. Very small and often crowded.
I've been to the root several times and have never had a bad experience. A neighborhood bar and restaurant that is welcoming to all. A large selection of craft beer and a unique menu.
I can't speak for the drinks, which I'm sure are good. However the food was okay. It was overpriced for the quality and temperature of the food. The mashed potatoes were somewhat cold (like when you microwave leftovers) and fries were soggy. My meatloaf was delicious but should've been warmed a little more. Other than that the place itself was nice but I would never go back.

Everything was delicious. Only thing that I would suggest is to adapt the "fancy" to the Customers.....we all love fanciness at times....but here in Fairmont, we love simple goodness....native to our local traditions. Ask the customers ....put survey cards out on the table s for the food you would like to serve....and adjust accordingly. Otherwise....everything was awesome. Love the idea of board game nights. It was so much fun. Thank you to Josh my barman.....he new his beers and food and his suggestion of pickled veggies and rice was truley devine. Great experience.
